Jacobus “Jake” Vollebregt

Jacobus “Jake” Vollebregt is an attorney with Dykema Gossett PLLC, where he serves as Senior Counsel in the Corporate Finance Practice Group and Business Services Department. He represents corporate clients across the finance, technology, real estate, education, healthcare, and critical infrastructure sectors.
Prior to joining Dykema, Jake was a partner at Quadrant Law Group, LLP, a Chicago-based boutique firm, where he advised enterprise clients on data privacy, regulatory compliance, cybersecurity, risk management, complex commercial transactions, and enterprise information security.
Jake is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
Earlier in his career, he served as public law counsel for California public agencies, including as in-house attorney at Moulton Niguel Water District and as external counsel with Best Best & Krieger LLP.
Jake also served as a Judge Advocate and Intelligence Officer in the United States Marine Corps. His assignments included trial litigation, operational law, investigations, intelligence and ISR planning, ethics, fiscal law, contracting, regulatory compliance, and classified evidence handling. As a Marine officer, he received a Master of Science in Strategic Intelligence from the National Intelligence University. He is a graduate of Marine Corps University’s Command and Staff College and Expeditionary Warfare School.
Jake earned his Juris Doctor with a Certificate in Taxation from Chapman University Fowler School of Law. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Gonzaga University.
